Woman Dies Trying to Activate Apartment Gate

A really unfortunate situation occurred this summer that I just found out about. At woman was killed at an apartment complex where Kim and I used to live in GA. She was trying to open the front security gate with her key card and was trapped in her car door when the car moved forward and the door hit a post protecting the housing for the card reader.

We didn't know the woman, but it was a situation that has concerned me quite a few times when I watched a person that will remain unnamed do very near the same thing by not putting the car in park and then try to stretch as far as possible out the window... I really hate to see people lose their lives or even bang up their cars in a situation like this that could be prevented so easily by taking  a few extra seconds. Please think about it the next time you are at a drive through or entering your gated community.
