Kim and I went on a tour of the mangroves just outside of Quepos with Iguana Tours. If your like me and didn't grow up is Florida or Louisiana, you might not know what mangroves are. Mangroves are trees that are capable of living is brackish water or water that is a mix of fresh and salt water. This environment is home to many different species and is very important to Costa Rica. One cool part of the tour was the first few pictures in which the boat captain released a black boa constrictor that had been caught close to someone's home. All in all, this was a great tour. The guide (from Switzerland) who spoke English extremely well was very knowledgeable about the habitat as well as very out going.
