Blackett's Ridge

6 miles / 1765 ft

We hiked Blackett's Ridge as a sunset hike with return via headlamp. We departed the main parking area for Sabino Canyon about an hour and fifteen minutes prior to sunset arriving just in time to view the sunset from the top.

This is a must do hike in the Tucson area during the winter. With ~1700 feet of elevation gain in three miles it can be quite strenuous and is considered a difficult hike per the guide books. I promise you it is worth the fantastic views of the Catalina mountains as well as the city of Tucson.

Note: This is within a fee area of the Coronado National Forest.
